PhysiPole Warrnambool is proud to present CARNIBOOL!

Their very own competition held in Warrnambool on December 3rd at the Lighthouse Theatre.
Open to all studios, apparatuses and levels!

Entries open 11 – 23 October 2021

Entry Criteria

  • You must fill in all fields of the entry form prior to the entries close date of  October 23rd at 11:59pm AEDT.
  • Your cut music for the competition and a picture are required as a part of your entry
  • Audition video entries must be 1-2 minutes in length and do not need to be the same as the planned performance piece
  • Entry fees must be paid in full no later than the closing date for entries to be valid
  • Successful applicants will be announced on the studio’s Facebook page
  • This is an open level competition as it is not a trick-based competition

Performance Criteria

  • Pole, Aerials and Juniors performances must be between 2-3 minutes in length.
  • Groups and Silks/Tissu performances must between 3 – 4 minutes in length.
  • Groups – No more than 2 competitors on each apparatus at any given time throughout the performance.
  • Performers must not engage with the judges prior to, or on the day of the competition.
  • No performance shall make any offensive or derogatory references to any religion, gender, race or sexuality.
  • Apparatuses/poles will vary depending on the location you have entered.

Props Criteria

  • Performers are permitted to use any props, sets, costuming, additional performers, sound effects, performance apparatus or footwear, provided that:
    • the space allows for it physically;
    • it can be set up and completely removed in under 1 minute.
  • Any use of the above items should be described in the applicant’s entry.
  • The performer may not perform nude or partially nude. G-strings are not permissible. Heels are optional.
  • No outfit shall make any offensive or derogatory references to any religion, gender, race or sexuality.
  • The use of grip aids are permitted.

Judging Criteria

10 points Floorwork
Creativity and level of difficulty of floorwork will be judged. Unique transitions and fluidity will account for higher score.

10 points Costumes/Props
Good use of costumes/props that go well with theme/concept of the routine

10 points Dance
The performance is seamless in its transitions between pole and dance. Individual movements are well thought out to make sense within the routine. Musicality and staging will also be judged. Performer demonstrates clean lines, strong posture and the deliberate creation of aesthetically pleasing shapes within tricks and overall movement.

10 points Tricks
Strength and control within tricks, flexibility and unique combinations will account for tricks score
