Looking over your timetable, you notice a class called “Late Night Sexy” – what is this mysterious casual class? Do you have to “be sexy” to do it? Why should you give it a go?

As I booked into my very first Late Night Sexy class, I assumed that there would be sexy-style pole dancing involved, but other than that, I really wasn’t sure what to expect.
I was quite nervous! I was a freshly-enrolled pole student at the time (which took the edge off, somewhat) but had no dance experience other than that.
And to top-it-off… what do I wear?!
Opting for my standard poling gear (black pole shorts and a black crop), I arrived at the studio. I brought my heels along as well, and it’s a good thing too as it turns out this casual is perfect for all you heel-lovers out there!
My fellow PhysiPolers were dressed in lace and beautiful strappy bodysuits, more lingerie-esque than your typical pole activewear – I felt more than welcome in my gear, though, as it’s all about wearing what makes YOU feel sexy and empowered!
First, our instructor led us through a warmup done entirely in heels (so different but so much fun!) then after some stretching, we got straight into learning a sexy dance routine.
At first, my nerves got the best of me, but within ten minutes I was giggling my head off as I rolled around on the floor playing with shapes and motions. Everyone is so encouraging of each other, and the cheers when someone nails a movement or timing were intoxicating.
As the class progressed, my movements became more and more fluid, transforming me from a nervous little caterpillar into a beautiful, confident butterfly. That’s the power of heels, dance and friends! It’s great if you can bring friends with you, but I promise you’ll make friends there anyway.
At the end of the night, we were given time to record ourselves performing our new routine. This isn’t a requirement, but it can be fun playing the footage back. You’re probably a lot sexier than you think, so this can be an awesome confidence-booster!
A cooldown stretch, some #SundayBumday snaps for Insta (again, not required, but fun), and then it was time to head home for the night. You’ll sleep well, as the choreo element of Late Night Sexy is a great cardio workout.
