Studio Owner
Talanna started pole dancing in 2012, with very little dance background. Her previous sporting focuses had centred around basketball, netball and tennis, so pole was an exciting but very different adventure for her. Hooked from the first class, Talanna quickly learned that pole is an excellent whole body workout. Soon finding herself attending the studio several times a week, she was amazed at the positive changes she was finding in not only her body, but her dance ability and coordination, confidence, motivation and self perception. Talanna naturally progressed throughout the PhysiPole levels and was delighted to reach her first major ‘pole goal’ of becoming an Elite student – from here, the goals only continued.
Talanna found her love for the stage early in her pole career, starting to perform and compete after less than three terms! She has since competed and performed in many shows across Australia and won several titles. Talanna was part of the winning routine in Australia and New Zealand wide competition, Pole Games, competing with her fellow PhysiPole team and has performed at both Encore! Sydney Pole Show and Pandemonium events as part of group performances. As a soloist, and perhaps most notably, Talanna was awarded first place in the 2016 Regional Pole Artistry Championships in Victoria for her Wizard of Oz routine and was awarded the Best Trickster at Survivor Pole Championships for her Mary Poppins routine in 2018.
After regularly instructing at the Ballarat studio by night, while working as a Phlebotomist by day, Talanna was eager to become a part of the PhysiPole Franchise. Opening PhysiPole Studios Geelong in 2015, Talanna hoped only to create the same warm and fuzzy PhysiFam feeling that Ballarat had shown her. After three incredible years and having successfully established Geelong’s very own PhysiFam, the original Malop street building had been outgrown. Talanna and the team built the now existing PhysiPole Studios Grovedale, with this move allowing for the addition of the very much sought after aerial silks and lyra.
Wildly exceeding every expectation she had of the entire PhysiPole venture, Talanna is still consistently overcome with the amount of love and support that the beautiful members of the studio demonstrate. She hopes to inspire her staff and students, wanting them to feel strong, empowered, confident and as though they can express themselves through the many styles pole dance and aerial fitness have to offer.
